[Not a valid template]Partant de l’idée qu’une roche est comme la page d’un livre, Lucian Moriyama présente ses œuvres récentes en plâtre situées entre la peinture, la sculpture et la géologie. À travers son appropriation des mouvements géologiques et de l’histoire de l’art, il développe un vocabulaire de gestes et de dualismes : temps/strates, fragilité/fissures, lumière/ombre, l’idéal et son double tragique.

À l’occasion d’ArtContest, il présente une sélection d’œuvres existantes en scagliola, une technique de trompe-l’œil imitant le marbre, ainsi qu’une nouvelle série d’œuvres qui explorent la cristallisation : la cristallisation comme mémoire encodée, le développement d’une réflexion intime, un objet qui disparaît en lui-même, s’inspirant d’un poème de Christian Bök :

Un cristal n’est rien de plus

qu’une brise soufflant du sable

dans la forme d’un château

ou un film passé à l’envers

d’une fenêtre que l’on brise.

Taking as his starting point the idea that a rock is like a page in a book, Lucian Moriyama presents his recent plaster-based works situated between painting, sculpture, and geology. Through his appropriation of art historical and geological movements, he develops a vocabulary of gestures and dualisms: time/strata, fragility/fissures, light/shadow, the ideal and its tragic double.

For ArtContest, he presents a selection of existing works in scagliola, a trompe-l’œil technique imitating marble, alongside a new series of works which explore crystallisation: crystallisation as encoded memory, the development of intimate reflection, an object which disappears into itself, drawing upon a poem by Christian Bök:

A crystal is nothing more
than a breeze blowing sand
into the form of a castle
or a film played backwards
of a window being smashed.
